Vic’s Travel Blog is a personal travel journal operated by Victoria M, based in the United States. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@plospops.com.

Browsing and hosting

Cloudflare hosts and secures this website. Its infrastructure processes network information, including IP addresses, to deliver requests and protect the service. The blog’s analytics do not store raw IP addresses. Hosting and security processing are separate from the statistics described below. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Page counts and your choice

Automatic page counts are enabled. Successful public page requests can contribute directly to hourly totals by page and approximate country, solely to understand and improve this blog. We do not create visitor identifiers, store individual page-request records, or follow people between pages. Counts are page views, not unique visitors; reloads may count again. Country comes from network location and may differ from physical location. Known bots and prefetches are excluded where detectable; counts are incomplete.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected. Your current request does not carry a statistics opt-out. You can opt out below without creating an account. Opt-out stores only the fixed value “off” in a secure, HTTP-only cookie on this browser for one year. No statistics preference cookie is set by default. Removing your opt-out deletes it. The preference applies to future requests on this browser; anonymous totals cannot identify your previous visits.

Optional reading time

Reading-time sharing is available only when you choose it for a page. It is separate from automatic page counts. When you choose to share, a random page token held in memory supports duplicate prevention and cumulative time. A digest of that token, the public page, approximate country, start time and estimated active seconds are temporarily stored. We do not use that token to link different pages. Only visible, focused and recently active time is estimated, and collection ends after 30 minutes. Time is not proof of attention. You can stop reading-time sharing on the page. The dashboard’s average uses only the opted-in sample, including pages with zero reported time.

Retention and access

Temporary reading tokens expire after one hour. Hourly cleanup removes expired records, so physical deletion can lag by the cleanup interval. Aggregate statistics are kept for 90 days and cleaned hourly. Only the authenticated owner can view the dashboard. Small country totals are hidden there. No advertising tracker or sale of analytics information is part of this system.

Comments

A comment sends the display name and message you enter to Vic for review. It is public only after approval. Do not include sensitive information or private contact details. Pending, approved, rejected and hidden comments and moderation history currently remain stored without an automatic deletion schedule. Contact support@plospops.com to request correction or removal.

To limit spam, the application derives a daily salted digest from the requesting IP address; raw IP addresses are not stored in comment tables. Comment session tokens expire after 15 minutes. Old session records, salts and rate-limit digests are cleaned when a new comment session is requested, so physical deletion may occur later than expiry.

Other preferences and services

The site may remember your background-motion preference on your device. Owner access uses Cloudflare authentication and its necessary session mechanisms. External links have their own privacy practices.

Please identify the comment or issue without sending unnecessary sensitive information. We may need enough information to verify a request. Anonymous aggregate totals cannot be traced back to an individual. This notice will be updated when the site’s practices change.
